Toroidal Transformer
A transformer built on a doughnut-shaped (toroidal) core, offering compact size, low weight, minimal electromagnetic interference, and high efficiency.
A toroidal transformer is a type of transformer that uses a ring-shaped (toroidal) magnetic core. The windings are distributed evenly around the entire circumference, resulting in a highly efficient and compact design with very low electromagnetic emissions.
Advantages
- High efficiency — typically 90–95%
- Compact and lightweight — up to 50% lighter than E-I transformers
- Low magnetic stray field — minimal EMI
- Low acoustic noise
Applications
- Medical equipment
- Audio amplifiers
- Industrial control systems
- Telecommunications
- Renewable energy inverters
